This may look like a normal sock, but making it is far from standard, in more ways than one!
They are completely knitted on 2 needles, so no knitting in the round. 2 colours are used to create a subtle shadow effect, like in the example in the picture, but very different effects can be achieved, depending on the colours of the yarn used. They are knitted (from the cuff down) in spiraling strips, with a Dutch heel and short-rowing for the toes. It is possible to knit them both with and without a cuff, as shown in the picture. Because of the shape of the stitch pattern used, they
stay up fairly well without a cuff.
